I just love this little moment of Honda trolling Otogi because it’s very much like something he might do to Jou if he was there. Even though I don’t like the whole contest thing they have going over Shizuka, I’m glad that at least it’s shown that they don’t actually truly hate each other because of it and they are still friends. Yeah, they do genuinely get on each others nerves at times, but I just don’t really get a sense of true hostility except for maybe in that scene on top of the blimp when they nearly fell to their deaths.

Another thing I’m grateful for is that at least neither of them ever get angry at Shizuka for not returning their feelings and start blaming her for things that aren’t her fault. It’s a plot point that I wish hadn’t been included, but it still could have been a lot worse than it is.
